Disgraced financier Bernie Madoff has pled guilty to 11 felony counts. They're all related to that Ponzi scheme that cost thousands of investors billions of bucks. The judge has now accepted the plea. Madoff could face up to 150 years in prison. He is not expected to be sentenced for at least 90 days.

和新闻听力模仿一样,有两天没做。这个也是补昨天作业。但以后每周保证至少5天,努力是7天。

President Barack Obama is meeting with his Brazilian counterpart at the White House. The two leaders are expected to talk about the troubled global economy, energy and the environment. Brazil is a major U.S. trading partner and thanks to cautious economic policies it's felt better than almost all other major countries in the current economic downturn.

The focus is of course on the economy once again today, as President Obama meets with small business owners and community leaders this afternoon. The president will announce a new plan that will make lending to small businesses more attractive. Many small businesses are having a tough time getting loans from lenders due to the state of the economy.

多多第二周第二天

今天的翻译感觉还稍微好点。英翻中的时候除了有时候感觉别扭之外,还有就是找不到合适的词去表达某种心里很清楚的意思。这个问题真是急煞人。
视译的时候,抛却记忆因素不讲。很大一个感受就是为什么自己在用词的时候想不到这么一个词,似乎跟上面的问题一样。反正就是觉得人家怎么用词这么漂亮。比如今天的翻译最后票房榜,rake这个词,应该是用'搜索,拼命收集”这个接近的意思,也就是想尽办法让票房达到多少多少的意思。但如果让我用英语表达票房成绩,我肯定想不到用这个词,而且也肯定是找的词包含不了那种商业竞争啊努力赚取票房啊这个意思。
积累啊积累。。。。。。
555刚复习的时候回去再看整理稿,发现完全理解错了rake的意思。

Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir has returned to Darfur in another show of defiance to the international court seeking his arrest for alleged war crimes in the region. The Sudanese president addressed thousands of supporters Wednesday in the southern Darfur town of Nyala.
